Chat Application Security: Implementing Blockchain-based End-to-End Encryption

The increasing reliance on instant messaging applications for personal and professional communication has led to growing concerns about the security and privacy of the messages exchanged. In response to these concerns, End-to- end Encryption has emerged as a popular method for securing instant messaging communication. This paper proposes the use of blockchain technology in combination with Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman to provide End-to-End Encryption for instant messaging applications. By leveraging the decentralized and secure nature of blockchain, and the strong key agreement provided by Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman, this approach ensures that only the intended recipient has access to the encrypted messages, providing an additional layer of security compared to traditional Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman solutions. The paper also evaluates the implementation and performance of the proposed solution, demonstrating its feasibility and effectiveness in providing secure and private instant messaging communication. This paper presents a novel solution for securing instant messaging communication using blockchain and Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman, providing enhanced privacy and security compared to traditional Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman solutions.
