Investigation of EDF/ROA Hybrid Optical Amplifier in WDM Optical System

In this article we describe the topology of hybrid EDF/ROA amplifier WDM system. Even today, there is still a need to improve all-optical communication systems. The most widespread WDM systems can be optimized for higher transmission rates, longer distances, lower BER losses. The improvement of the system parameters can also be achieved by using high-quality network components or by combining different optical elements in the WDM. We discuss theory of wave multiplexes, CWDM and DWDM systems. Optical amplifiers EDFA and ROA. We designed a scheme for a hybrid amplifier optical system. Our goal is to improve WDM transmission properties in our proposed system. We will evaluate BER and Q factor parameters in scheme and we are expecting better BER parameters when deploying hybrid EDF/ROA amplifier over longer transport distance.
