An Efficient Method for IoT Cross-Platform Backup Software

The process of creating backup copies of files to ensure that data and information are not lost has a save dial for preserving files, especially if the device which has saved experiences a malfunction or shuts down, resulting in the loss of the original versions of the files. Creating backup copies of files also ensures that data and information are not lost. The purpose of this article is to present a software utility for the synchronization of files and the automatic backup of a particular file type. The object-oriented software engineering paradigm was utilized in designing the program and the work processes for its execution. This software is cross-platform since clones of it have been developed and evaluated on multiple platforms, including Linux, Windows, macOS, Sun Solaris, FreeBSD, NetBSD, and OpenBSD. Furthermore, Internet of Things features have been added to the system to support users' knowledge when their backed-up files are ready to be accessed.
