Dual-Beam Filtering Patch Antennas for Millimeter-Wave Applications

This paper presents a dual-beam filtering patch antenna with characteristics of high gain, wide band, high frequency selectivity. The proposed antenna consists of three-layer dielectric substrates, two slotted patches, two pins, a metallic strip underneath the middle patch and a grounding plate. As a result, with a total height of 0.15λ0, the proposed antenna is constructed with a wide working bandwidth of -10dB of 12.26%, as well as the average in-band gain is about 7dBi. The far-field radiation double beam at the direction of Phi=90° and Theta=±30°. This technique realizes good filtering performance in 31.19-35.36GHz with smaller electrical dimensions and less complexity.
