IoT – Driven Accident Prevention System for Hairpin Bend Roads in Hill Stations

According to a report, 10% of all car collisions in hill stations occur on curving roadways. Driving through curves and bends is dangerous. An IoT-based Accident Prevention System for Hairpin Bend Roads has been offered in this work as a potential option. The goals of the proposed work are to prevent accidents, particularly at hairpin bends and U curves, and to create traffic warning signals that inform drivers of both vehicles approaching the bend to the impending arrival of a vehicle on the other side of the bend. The suggested device contains an ultrasonic sensor to promptly notify any vehicle approaching the hairpin bend when it does so. In the proposed work, ESP-NOW communication technology is supported by Node MCU, which is used as a processing unit to enable two-way communication. As a result, this method lowers the likelihood of automobile collisions, particularly in forested or hilly areas with inadequate internet connection. It uses machine-to-machine communication protocol without the internet to address connectivity concerns.
