A Comprehensive Analysis of Load Shedding with DSM in a Power Grid with IEEE 14 Bus System Adoption of Chittagong Zone

With the concept of energy efficiency and conservation, power system restructuring is evolving in majority of the country. In a deregulated market structure, to meet the increasing electrical load demand, independent power producers are encouraging to supply, based on the price, cost and service in a competitive framework. To get full fledge techno-economic benefits of such electrical market setting, both the supply and demand side power providers are interested in its implementation. In this paper, the IEEE 14 bus test system is adopted for regional Chitchatting to investigate the techno-economic benefit of a new template base load demand response model in the network. An algorithm is developed to find optimal power flow, generation, locational marginal prices for every hour. Then the constraint and condition are applied to the load curve after careful consideration of the appliance status. In the proposed market setting, the system parameters are designed for energy-efficient demand-side management (DSM). Several plausible cases are formed to validate the model and results are compared with typical load shedding. The study find that the DSM integrated implementation can take the place of conventional load shedding.
