Optimizing of Bathing Water Heater using Microwave and Microcontroller Technology

The home bathing water heater has become ubiquitous in most homes in Malaysia but there have been many fatalities reported by the Energy Commission. The reason for this is the heating element within the copper heating system is just a few mm from the bathing water. A small pin-hole puncture in that copper can cause the bathing water to be electrified with 3.6 kW or more of power. In the system developed in this research, the bathing water is 0.3m from the power source, a distance capable of preventing a 33kV flashover. Besides, the microwave proved to be a much cheaper method of heating water compared to heating elements.
