A Comparative Analysis of Resource Allocation in VANET using DSRC and C-V2X

Resource management in Vehicular Adhoc Networks (VANET) is quite challenging because of the limited radio resources such as channels and power levels for an increasing number of vehicles. Currently, Cellular based Vehicle to Everything (C-V2X) and Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) technologies are used in VANET for networking and exchanging information among vehicles. Each technology has multiple modes, such as centralized and decentralized communications. So consideration of suitable parameters concerning modes of communication is critical to assess any newly proposed resource allocation algorithm. This work reviews fundamental concepts in resource allocation using both DSRC and Cellular V2X with a brief discussion of significant parameters for examining resource allocation algorithms intended for beginners in this research area.
