Improved Topologies Towards Existing Types of Single Phase Rectifiers

Single phase rectifiers are electrical component that is widely used in different applications. Rectifiers are essential since it determines the amount of power transmission from the main power supplies to the individual part that uses DC power, like light bulbs. However, conventional rectifiers do contain some drawbacks that can cause deficiency problems. Therefore, this article summarizes some innovative circuits based on buck-boost and zeta topology, with modifications to existing designs or some additional electrical device, which can improve the performance of the circuit. From repeated experiments, it is found that these proposed circuits boost the performance and solve some problems compared with the conventional single phase rectifiers, like low efficiency and power factor problems. By fixing these common problems, rectifiers can save much wasted energy consumption and keep the best performance at the same time. These improved rectifiers can be more applicable and beneficial in the upcoming future.
