Research on Site Planning of Communication Network Based on Genetic Algorithm

With the high velocity developments of 5G, the telecommunications bandwidth is becoming greater and greater, but the coverage area of base stations is becoming smaller and smaller. Therefore, in order to cover the same area, more base stations are needed, so making the planning and selection of communication network sites increasingly difficult. complex. Aiming at different base station planning problems, this paper solves the planning problem of base station site by establishing path loss model and using genetic algorithm. This paper firstly preprocesses the data visualization. Combined with the constraints in the problem, the genetic algorithm is used to optimize the location selection coordinates and the selection of base station types. Finally, using Matlab to solve the result, there are 3326 macro base stations and 217 micro base stations, the total cost is 33477, and the proportion of new base station business volume in the total business reaches 91.77%.
