Complementary Su-Do-Ku Puzzle based PV Array Reconfiguration to Enhance the Global Maximum Power under Partial Shaded Scenarios

The presence of partial shade has a significant impact on the performance of the PV array in terms of mismatch losses and power production. The primary focus of this research article is on the ideal PV setup under various shading patterns to maximize power while minimizing mismatching losses. Different PV configurations, including series-parallel (SP), total crosstied (TCT), bridge linked (BL), honey comb (HC), alternate total-cross-tied and bridge-linked (ALT-TCT-BL) and complementary Su-Do-Ku (C-SDK) puzzle are simulated. In this paper nine partial shading conditions (PSCs) are considered and the C-SDKP topology are evaluated and compared with other five topologies under various PSCs. In order to design PV array configurations, the Soltech-1 PV module (STH-215-P) is chosen in MATLAB/Simulink.
