Virtual HIL Simulation of Grid-tied PV Inverter with Hysteresis Current Controller

For distributed generation applications, this paper explains the control approach for a three-phase grid-tied inverter with a PV system. The current control is provided by a three-band hysteresis current controller. Durability, rapid error monitoring, enhanced dynamic responsiveness, and ease of installation are all advantages of hysteresis current controllers. Further, perturb & observe (P&O) algorithm is employed for MPPT, which is popular due to its simplicity and ease of implementation. The performance of the grid-tied PV inverter is demonstrated for unity power factor operation using a virtual HIL environment.
