Virtual Synchronous Generator Control Under Unbalanced Voltage Condition

The virtual synchronous generator as a voltage forming power, provides inertia and damping to the grid imitating a synchronous generator. When the grid voltage is unbalanced, the virtual synchronous generator output power quality is poor. In order to improve the virtual synchronous generator output characteristics, an improved control strategy is proposed to suppressing negative sequence components of output current and fluctuations in output power. The control parameters selection method is also discussed to ensure the system dynamic and stability for virtual synchronous generator under unbalanced voltage condition. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
