Industry 4.0 and Sustainability in Through Life Smart Manufacturing

Industry 4.0 plays a pertinent role in enhancing the efficiency, quality, and productivity of sustainable smart manufacturing in through-life. In order to maintain material flow stability and the supply chain sustainability, it is highly germane to identify the major driving forces, barriers as well as risks in the implementation strategy of Industry 4.0. Here comes the impact of change management, risk assessment, and quality control as the transition process involves a copious attribute of disruptions, risks, unexpected events and changes. In this review paper, major challenges and scope for implementing the Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, sustainability in through-life smart manufacturing and the future scope of research are outlined.
