Plant Disease Detection: A Survey on Recent Deep Learning Technologies

Plant diseases have a significant impact on the economy and a threat to global food security. Deep learning is an emerging technology and it can be applicable in various domains such as healthcare, finance, agriculture, entertainment and many more. Due to its fast and accurate predictions, many researchers experimented with various deep learning methodologies in agriculture including disease detection, weed detection, leaf classification and soil moisture prediction. Plant disease detection is an important and popular research field due to its quick and precise approaches. This survey provides the recent trends and challenges in deep learning techniques in plant disease detection and thus we hope our survey is resourceful for the new researchers in this field.
