A 38GHz mm Wave MIMO Antenna Design and Analyzed on Low Permittivity Substrate

This paper focuses on mmWave access 38.0GHz 2-port MIMO antenna designed on Rogers RTDuroid substrate. The single-element antenna with an overall dimension of $49\mathrm{~mm}^{2}$ is designed with a circular path printed on the top plane and ground on the opposite plane providing resonance at 38.0GHz. The two-port MIMO antenna occupies a very compact size of $98\mathrm{~mm}^{2}$ with an inter-spacing of $4.00\mathrm{~mm}$ between the two-radiating elements and is useful for 5G infrastructure. The narrow-bandwidth MIMO antenna offers good matching of impedance at 38.0GHz with the optimized radius of patch $1.5275\mathrm{~mm}$. The proposed MIMO antenna radiating electromagnetic energy offers a maximum gain of 5.69dBi and radiation efficiency of 89% at $ 38.0\mathrm{GHz}\&$ stable radiation pattern. The diversity performance corresponds to $\mathrm{CCL}_{38\mathrm{GHz}}\lt 0.40\mathrm{~b}/\mathrm{s}/\mathrm{Hz}$.
