Implementation Of Effective IoT Architecture For Early Flood Detection And Management System

Floods due to heavy rainfall and storm surge from a tropical cyclone causes major disaster to the surroundings and human lives. The primary effect of flooding includes loss of life, damage to buildings, blocking transportation routes, isolating part of the cities or whole by cutting the remote access communities. Floods are categorized into seasonal and non-seasonal floods. Seasonal floods occur due to changes in climatic conditions in rivers whereas non-seasonal is due to intense rainfall or waterlogging. Flood control has been an important step in the flood management process. It is done by many techniques including installing rock dams, sandbags, maintaining normal slopes with vegetation, and building or widening drainage channels. Recent research communities on flood control and management focus on structuring proper drainage systems. Design of Flood prediction devices is a challenging issue in real time scenarios using IoET. Systematic Literature review has been carried out to identify the sensors, hardware devices, and interfaces to be implemented for the proposed architecture with appropriate accuracy and cost effective
