Measurement and Analysis of Interference for 5G System in Smart Factory

The Fifth Generation (5G) mobile communication system is applied in vertical industries. Industrial manufacturing is one of the most important vertical industry, where the electromagnetic interference is very complex. This electromagnetic interference seriously impacts the 5G network. In this paper, we aim to characterize interference based on realistic measurement data collected in a smart factory. We developed an interference measurement system. With the measurement data, we extract the frequency occupation and amplitude information of interference. The results from the characterization of interference provide some reference suggestions for the coordination of spectrum resources in industrial scenario. And the results can be used as guidelines for minimizing the risk of expensive disturbances in industrial processes.
