A 5G-based Architecture for Remote Management of Intelligent Production Lines

The traditional remote management of production lines uses wireless network connections such as WIFI. In the management application of the new generation of intelligent production lines, a large number of technologies such as VR, MR and remote control are applied. The original communication mode is in bandwidth, delay and stability. There are sexual deficiencies. This paper proposes a 5G-based remote management architecture for intelligent production lines. The architecture uses 5G as the main communication method. Using the technical characteristics of eMBB, mMTC, and URLLC, it can realize remote MR inspection, panoramic VR monitoring and remote control, and improve production line equipment. The remote health management and operation and maintenance capabilities ensure the continuous work of the production line. The effectiveness of the MR/VR application is verified through experiments. By comparing the response time of 5G and WIFI communication, it is concluded that 5G has a shorter response time and lower volatility.
