Advanced Bridge Monitoring System using Internet of Things

When bridges deteriorate with age or are destroyed by natural disasters, nobody seems to notice. Then crossing bridges is risky because they can give way at any time. Therefore, for better bridge health, continuous bridge checking is required. To address this matter, a plan for constant bridge monitoring via wireless IoT technology has been proposed. This new plan can be used for monitoring bridges and even flyovers. The structure is made up of interconnected sensors for measuring things like load, water level, vibration, and tilt, all of which are interfaced with communication devices. A database is used to record the current condition of a bridge. In this research, we employ ZigBee technology to create an Internet of Things-based bridge safety monitoring system. Devices for monitoring the bridge environment are part of this system, as are the communication devices that transmit data between the bridge monitoring device and the cloud server and the cloud server itself, which performs the necessary calculations and analyses on the data transmitted from the monitoring devices. Water levels, pipe pressure, air quality, and other potential threats to the bridge's integrity can all be tracked and analysed by this system in real time. To allow users to track the status of the bridge in real time using mobile communication devices, the collected data and photographs are uploaded to a server and database. The CPU is being used for computation and interpreting the data that is received by the monitoring devices. The design monitors the real-time condition of bridges and flyovers.
