Development of Communication System For Deaf And Blind Persons Using Text to Braille Conversion

People who are unable to see (blind) uses Braille as a principal mode of information access all throughout the world. Almost every country has adopted the “Braille” system as a standard technique of obtaining information for the visually impaired. Tactile signing, Braille, and the moon are some unique languages for deaf-blind persons. Braille is one of the most popular modes of communication technique among these options. This paper provides a solution that includes a mechanism for bridging the gap between Braille and English text characters. The main objective of the work is to develop a text-to-braille conversion using Renesas Microcontroller. The proposed system uses a microcontroller and PC to convert the Text to Braille format between an average person and a visually impaired person to communicate with each other. Results show that the proposed system provides efficient and accurate conversion.
