Wireless Communication-Based Coexistence of IPv4 and IPv6 for IoT Devices

With the wide application of IPv6, it can be predicted that IPv4 and IPv6 will be in the state of long-term mutual existence in the future, which makes various security problems appear in the dual stack protocol where IPv4 and IPv6 coexist. In the coexistence environment of dual stack protocols, in order to ensure the normal communication during the protocol transition period, there are many communication technologies at this stage, among which the dual stack technology is the relatively mainstream communication mechanism. The main purpose of this paper is to study the technology of coexistence of IPv4 and IPv6 based on wireless communication of Internet of Things devices. This paper focuses on the dual protocol sharing technology of IPv4 and IPv6, proving that the devices that implement networking support both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols, and there is no interference between them. Firstly, it introduces the dual protocol stack and its related technologies; Secondly, the differences between IPv4 and IPv6 wireless device networking are compared, and the advantages of IPv6 are summarized; Finally, the design experiment analysis is carried out for the practical application of dual stack devices supporting IPv4 and IPv6. Based on the analysis and demand of the network situation in the early stage, this paper proposes a set of transition schemes that meet the actual needs for the reliability, stability and security of the network, around the research ideas of the transition from IPv4 network to IPv6 network, and the networking principles. Combined with the IPv6 network simulation experiment based on dual protocol stack, the feasibility of dual protocol stack technology implementation is verified.
