Wind Turbine Integrated Hybrid Microgrids with Stable Voltage Supply under Islanded and Grid- connected Modes

Wind turbine, as one of the common renewable energy generations, is an important distributed generation type for microgrids. However, it often presents large inertia and is difficult to be stably controlled in microgrid systems. Currently, on one hand, regarding renewable energy generation, it is still rare to see the configuration of only wind turbine integrated ac/dc hybrid microgrids. On the other hand, the voltage supply quality is also less concerned in the above-mentioned microgrids. Therefore, to fill these gaps, this paper builds and studies an ac/dc hybrid microgrid integrated with wind turbines. Besides, the energy storage devices are coordinated to facilitate stable and steady ac/dc voltage supplies, where the output voltage of the wind turbine is strongly addressed. The microgrid can operate in both islanded and grid-connected modes, ensuring a smooth voltage connection to the main grid. Comprehensive case researches have been undertaken to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the microgrid system and its control strategy.
