Proportional Power Compensation for Regional Bus Voltage Regulation in ADN

In active distribution networks (ADN) with PV, the intermit PV generation results in voltage violation problem. Power compensation is a widely used method to ameliorate bus voltage profile while lacking a necessary regional coordination. This paper proposes a regional voltage regulation method based on proportional reactive power compensation of PV inverters first and then proportional active power compensation of battery energy storage system (BESS). This not only allows the violated voltage of these buses to be adjusted to acceptable range 0.95pu-1.05pu, but also makes the burden fairly shared among all involved PV inverters and BESSs. Finally, the simulation results of a sample ADN mode demonstrate its effectiveness.
