Fuzzy Logic based Clustering Approach in Heterogeneous WSN

The Heterogeneous wireless sensor networks represent an increasingly important technology class that aims to address the limitations of traditional Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). Indeed, the large capacities of the heterogeneous nodes can exceed by far those of the traditional nodes, which makes that this technology is more and more used seen the considerable advantages which it presents compared to the traditional technology of the WSN. Energy consumption is considered among the major constraints in sensor networks and the source of many scientific and technical challenges. In this paper, the problem of maximizing lifetime by conserving energy is solved. This article proposes a new technique which is the Fuzzy Logic-based clustering approach with LEACH protocol and MATLAB tool is used to make the simulation. Number of alive nodes, network lifetime, and network throughput are among the performance comparison indicators.
