LEFA: Framework to Develop Learnability of Children with Autism

This study proposes Learnability Enhancing Framework for Autism (LEFA) to develop the learning ability of children with autism. LEFA has evolved from an ethnographic study on a group of children with autism in a specialized school. The study identified the relationship of learnability with severity level of autism and analyse the ICT learning solutions used for their interventions. The findings reveal the necessity to identify the learning preferences of children with autism to enhance their learnability. Thereby, LEFA consists of modules to detect the autism and behaviour patterns. The modules are associated with ICT based learning interventions in various skills and evaluation of the performance to detect their learning preferences. LEFA captures data parameter to enable Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to identify their learning patterns. Thereby, LEFA will facilitate the caregivers to apply effective ICT based learning solutions for individuals with autism.
