Review on Switching Band Antenna Reconfigurability

For the fusion of various wireless protocols into a single platform rapid advancement in the demand of wireless communications is very desirable so that antennas characteristics like polarization, operating frequency and radiation pattern can be changed [1]. The host system response depends on the operational requirements like impedance bandwidth, polarization, operational frequency and Fresnel pattern so reconfigurable antennas are used to alter those requirements. These antennas have a broad spectrum of patterns they can transmit at various frequencies and polarizations. It is a challenging task for reconfigurable antenna designer to find the required functionality and incorporate it into a whole system in an effective and affordable manner.
