Position Sensorless Control of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Based on Fuzzy PI and New Sliding Mode Observer

With the gradual improvement of social quality requirements for power supply, the centralized power supply mode changes to the distributed power system. Micro gas turbines are a hot spot for scientific research and market development as mature distributed generation equipment. Permanent magnet synchronous motor plays an essential role in starting of microturbine. There is a chattering problem in the sensorless control system of permanent magnet synchronous motor using the traditional sliding mode observer. This paper proposes the continuous switching function at zero points and a new approach rate. The fuzzy PI control is also used in the speed loop to replace the traditional PI control. The new sliding mode observer can improve rotor speed and position estimation accuracy, weaken chattering, and have fast response speed. Fuzzy PI control can further reduce the motor rotor speed overshoot, speed up the response speed, and have a strong anti-interference capability. The above two improved methods are validated by experiments.
