Multiobjective optimal waveform design for TDS-OFDM integrated radar and communication systems

The integrated radar and communication waveform is one of solutions to alleviate the problem of frequency spectrum shortage, which plays an importance role in the development of multifunctional electronic information systems. To deal with the difficulties of waveform design for the integrated radar and communication systems, a multiobjective optimal waveform design for integrated radar and communication systems of Time-Domain-Synchronization Orthogonal-Frequency-Division-Multiplexing (TDS-OFDM) is proposed. At first, a multiobjective optimal function is built to design the transmitting waveforms with the radar sensing performance, the Communications Channel Capacity (CCC), and the Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR). To simply the global optimization process, the multiobjective optimal function decomposes into a cascade of independent objective optimal functions as an approximation. Then, a proper waveform is obtained by solving the independent objective optimal functions. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate the advantages of the method.
