High Performance Slotted Waveguide Array Antenna of mm-Wave Radar

This paper presents development of slotted waveguide array antenna applied in millimeter-wave FMCW radar detector device. This linear travelling wave array antenna which is excited by 50ohm glass insulator coaxial connector can integrated with the T/R module of the front-end systems compactly. The antenna has radiation beamwidth of E-plane 9deg, H-plane 108deg, and the side-lobe is less than - 13dB, the beam point is 22.5deg deviation of the normal vector. The gain is greater than 13.5dBi at the operating frequency of 37GHz. The SNR of the mm-wave IF output signal is larger than 15dB with this high performance antenna integrated.
