300 Gb/s WDM-PON Downstream Model Performance Optimization for Co-Exist Approach

5G requirements include high-speed mobile communication networks, low latency, and high-capacity links. Need development construction of the transport architecture both in mobile front-haul (MFH) or mobile backhaul (MBH). Passive optical network (PON) schemes are the backbone of this improvement. The Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technique is an excellent method to enhance the capacity for the PON scheme to match bandwidth demands. This article will investigate the 300 Gb/s based on the 25 G-EPON WDM Scheme. Increasing the optical channel data rate improves the number of clients served and allows transmission at no additional cost. The system parameters, such as BER, launched power, and splitting ratios, were analyzed using Opti. System commercial software to realize optimal operating points for a specified distance. A simulation with varying input power and optical reach is applied for system performance evaluation. The setup, which combines 12 channels of 25 Gb/s ber wavelength at 20 km distributed at the end user to a 1:N optical network unit (ONU), is investigated and confirms that a 1:128 splitting ratio can be supported with acceptable signal quality and BER. Besides that, the RZ data format provides better downstream-duplex results than the NRZ coding. The outcomes provide acceptable results of the 300G system, which can be an excellent reference to set up and implement coexisting scenarios for high-capacity networks.
