Choice of Batteries and Battery Management for New Generation Electric Vehicles

Electric vehicles are the most preferred vehicles over IC engines, nowadays due to their high efficiency, low dependency on fuel and being free from the emission of gases. The main components of electric vehicles are batteries, motors and converters. The most used battery for EVs is a lithium-ion battery. Despite the many advantages of electric vehicles, there are many drawbacks. One of the major problems is the combustion of lithium-ion batteries which leads to damage to electric vehicles. There are many batteries which have the capability of replacing the lithium-ion battery. But they do have drawbacks. In this paper, we are going to study the characteristics of different kinds of batteries and at the end, we will propose two or three batteries which will completely supersede lithium-ion batteries.
