Comparative Study Between Robust SMC and H∞ Controller of a DVAWT System Based on DFIG

In the propose of the work, a Direct Driven Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (DVAWT) based on a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) connected directly to the network through the stator is modeled, controlled, and simulated. The development of two effective and robust controls for the stator power (active/ reactive) of DFIG is what we are concerned; the first is the sliding mode control, and the second is the H-infinity (H

) controller. The objective was to compare them to each other to maintain the optimal performance of DVAWT and guarantee the stability of DVAWT when machine parameters change.
