A Survey on DSTATCOM Control and Power Quality Improvement Techniques

A power distribution network is required to transmit a continuous energy supply to the distribution end with smooth sinusoidal voltage magnitude and frequency. In actuality, multiple non-linear loads are imposed at the user end, which deteriorates the power quality in the distribution system. Hence for improvement in power quality, a distribution static synchronous compensator (DSATCOM) can be used at the distribution end. There are so many works carried out by researchers in the field of power quality improvement. This paper presents a survey on the different approaches used for enhancing the control strategy for DSTATCOM as well as power quality improvement techniques.
