The Dynamic Response Model and Simulation of the Launched Chaff of a Drone

Chaff cartridge interference is an effective passive countermeasure against incoming missiles. However, the traditional method only carries out CFD single point aerodynamic simulation. In this paper, in order to evaluate the influence of chaff bomb on aircraft safety, a bomb-carrying drone model of 6 degree of freedom (DOF) is established. This paper calculates the unstable interference reaction force of launched chaff cartridge of the drone, based on the non-linear dynamic simulation technology. Based on the Simulink module, a model of interference reaction force actin on the 6 DOF model of the drone is established, and analyze the chaff cartridge launch and aerodynamic character in different working conditions. Based on the 6 DOF non-linear dynamic simulation model of the launched chaff cartridge by the drone, the influence on attitude and safety of the drone with separated chaff is studied.
