A Shared-Aperture Tri-Band Dual-Polarized Antenna

In this paper, a novel tri-band dual-polarized shared-aperture antenna is proposed by combining magnetic dipoles and electric dipoles. This antenna consists of three parts. The first part is a low-band (LB) unit formed by two pairs of folded dipoles with operating frequency from 0.76 GHz to 0.88 GHz. The second part is a bowl-shaped middle-band (MB) unit, which is form by a magnetic dipole with operating frequency from 2.55 GHz to 2.8 GHz. The third part is a four-leaf clover high-band (HB) unit that works from 3.3 GHz to 3.6 GHz. By combining the advantages of three parts of antenna units with different operating mechanism, the proposed antenna can obtain a good performance in tri-band for 5G application.
