Controller analysis for active distribution nodes in advanced dc power systems

This paper studies the control of the multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) dc-dc converter serving as an active distribution node for an intelligent dc distribution grid. The unified model of a MIMO converter is derived, which allows for a systematical analysis and control design without considering the specific operating modes of the input/output modules. For the derived high-order multivariable model, a robust controller is designed via the linear matrix inequality (LMI) synthesis with disturbance-attenuation and pole-placement constraints. The controller design is verified by simulations and experimental results.
