Pulse propagation and break-up in fiber amplifiers with third-order dispersion

We present a novel analytical solution and the conditions leading to accurate description of propagating pulses and critical length describing pulse break-up for the generalized nonlinear Schrodinger equation with third-order fiber dispersion and constant gain.
