It gives me immense pleasure to note that the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at National Institute of Technology Karnataka Surathkal is organizing third International Conference on Eco-Friendly Computing and Communication Systems (ICECCS 2014) during December 18–21, 2014. It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the beautiful campus of NITK Surathkal at Mangalore, India as you have come over here to take part in the said conference. I am glad to note that the conference is of multidisciplinary nature which supports diverse fields in engineering and technology, and mainly focuses on Sustainable Development and Green Technology. Energy Efficiency has become an important and integral part of system design and can be considered as one of the few areas which have a considerable impact and involve almost all the fields of engineering. It covers diversified topics of relevance such as Green and Sustainable Computing, Sustainable Engineering, Smart Grids, Environmental Engineering, Green building and Sustainable ICT. This event also includes several Pre-Conference Tutorials and Post-Conference Workshops besides interesting keynote speakers which will allow the participants to gain knowledge about this field and allied areas of relevance.
An important point to be noted is that the proceedings of the conference would be published by IEEE CPS and will be made available in IEEE Xplore. Researchers sometime find it difficult to publish their quality work in a well reputed publication, for them it is a golden opportunity as IEEE proceedings are considered to be reputed and have good quality.
The Chairs and members of various Committees, Speakers and those who have contributed to the organization of this conference, have done a commendable job and I hope that the participants and delegates will carry good memories of the Conference.
