Aperture field integration method applied to on-board array-fed reflector antenna for DBS

The attenuation value of broadcasting satellite signals due to heavy rain is discussed and antennas by which the radiation pattern can be adaptively varied according to the shape of rainfall and the attenuation level are considered to be necessary. We examine array-fed reflector antennas, which increase the EIRP in rainfall areas to compensate for the rainfall attenuation. To synthesise the radiation pattern, we use the aperture field integration method (AFIM), which was usually applied to on-focused reflector antennas. The AFIM is applied to defocused reflector antennas and confirmed its validity.
