Preparation and characterization of ZnGa/sub 2/O/sub 4/ phosphor synthesized with an optimized combustion process

A novel ceramic synthesis technique, combustion synthesis, was explored to produce a blue-emitting ZnGa/sub 2/O/sub 4/ phosphor with improved physical and luminescence properties. In this study, the preparation of the ZnGa/sub 2/O/sub 4/ phosphor by the combustion synthesis is based upon a thermally polymerizable water-ethylene glycol system in which zinc and gallium nitrates are soluble.
