Study of CAN-Modbus communication adapter for low-voltage distribution system

In order to solve the problems, such as incapable interconnection of heterogeneous network in low-voltage distribution system, data loss in the high-speed transmission and less transmitted data quantity of CAN bus and so on, the CAN-Modbus communication adapter based on the rule of data's subpackage and reorganization and transparent transmission theory is developed. Its maximum transmitted data quantity is 378 bytes on CAN bus. And the intelligent electrical apparatus complying with Modbus protocol is connected to CAN bus by designed adapter to realize centralized monitoring in a simple, real-time way. In addition, data loss in high-speed transmission is avoided by studying delay time of sending data in different baud rate and taking the way of real-time correction of interval time between sending two data packets. The practice proves that studied communication adapter meets the need of intelligent low-voltage distribution, and has the properties of accurate and high real-time data transfer.
