Kinematics Modelling and Simulation of Emulsion Pump Valve

Based on the continuity equation, the dynamic equation of the pump valve and the compressibility of the emulsion, the kinematics models of the pump valve in normal and valve spring abruption condition are established. The simulation results show that the loss of volumetric efficiency is inevitable because of the opening and closing hysteresis characteristic of the pump valve caused by the Westphal's phenomenon of the pump valve and the compressibility of the emulsion. The breakdown of the valve spring will deteriorate the opening and closing hysteresis characteristic and reduce the volumetric efficiency of the emulsion pump further. At the same time the falling speed of the valve disc will increase steeply to exceed the maximum permission speed. So the valve disc will impact at the valve seat or the lift limiter intensively to damage the pump valve. Through the identification of the impulse between the valve disc and the valve seat or the lift limiter, we can realize the diagnosis of the spring abruption fault of the pump valve correctly and effectively.
