Time domain dielectric relaxation spectroscopy of the Ag/sub 2/CdI/sub 4/ superionic conductor

Dielectric relaxation spectroscopy (DRS) is a widely used method in solid state physics. The DRS is based on the Fourier transformation (FT) of time domain obtained dielectric response into the dielectric spectrum. This technique allows the calculation of the real and the imaginary parts of the dielectric permittivity in the lower frequency range, where direct dielectric/impedance measurements may be ineffective. In the present paper we analyze experimental results of time domain measurement on bulk samples of Ag/sub 2/CdI/sub 4/ superionic compound. The possible approximation algorithms for the experimental data are discussed and different approaches of numerical calculation of the Fourier transform are compared.
