Combination of Bragg and nonlinear phenomena in open periodic waveguiding structure

Physical effects of the monochromatic plane wave scattering on nonlinear films with periodic spatial perturbation of the surface impedance. are theoretically considered., Conditions' of excitations of two surface waves propagating in opposite directions are, found. It is shown that if nonlinear and spatial perturbations have the same infinitesimal order it is necessary to take into consideration the back action of higher harmonics on amplitudes of surface waves. Influence of the Bragg conditions mismatch on frequency characteristics of the higher harmonics amplitudes is investigated. Optimal values of period and amplitude of spatial periodic perturbation,for the higher frequency harmonics. generation are obtained for some values of nonlinear perturbation.
