Tangible User Interface as Input and Output Device

This paper describes a design of a TUI (Tangible User Interface) that works as input and output device and has his own API, which allows the write of different applications, presenting results dependent on the users' programs. This device is a platform with pins that move, can change color and are able to read the user's touch, intending to be like a display monitor. Associate library software was also written, with device functions that can be used by the programmers right away. In addition, experiments were done, by performing applications that prints letters, graphics and binary numbers on the device, to show how it works.
