Superior Jc-B-T Characteristics of 10-μm-Thick MgB2 Film for Tape Application

Superior Jc-B-T characteristics of 10-μm-thick MgB
₂
films on copper plates were obtained. The Jc-B-T properties were measured at a temperature range from 5 to 20 K and at an external magnetic field range from 0 to 17 T. At B = 6 T, Jc were 54 200, 30 840, 9900, and 820 A/mm
²
at T = 5, 10, 15, and 20 K, respectively. The high Jc suggest that MgB
₂
film is a promising candidate for next-generation superconducting tape conductors and coils.
