Parsimonious AHP applied to the conservation of cetaceans: A case study in the Gulf of Taranto

The achievement of the conservation goals and the supporting of the performances of a biodiversity conservation area need a planning of the management actions, according to participate processes with the stakeholders [17]. Within this context, the acquisition of knowledge assumes an importance in the management decisions, which should be able to integrate a trade-off with the ecological principles of a sustainable use of the natural capital and the different human activities. Not less important, the start of these processes needs to clear statements on the planning of conservation measures, which should be evaluable over the time by the local administration and citizen.
