The Normalized Weighted Capacity Criterion based Antenna Design for 5G-HAP Cellular Systems

In this paper, a novel normalized weighted capacity criterion (NWCC) is proposed and applied to 5G-HAP cellular systems to optimize multi-beam antenna pattern. An utility function is designed regarding the cell average and cell edge weighted capacity, so the network design strategy can be adjusted by the weighting factor. Moreover, the CINR restrictions for achievable capacity calculation are discussed to make NWCC practical and implementable in 5G-HAP system. Finally, the numerical simulations are performed to solve the NWCC utility function to find the optimal antenna roll-off according to various HAP height and cell radius.
