A Novel Method for High Resistance Grounding Faulty Feeder Detection in Distribution Network

When the single-phase high resistance grounding occurs in the distribution network, the identification of fault lines is particularly difficult due to the weak fault characteristics. Therefore, A novel method for high resistance grounding faulty feeder detection in distribution network on power frequency zero sequence current injection is proposed. The method finds that when the system is in the state of high resistance grounding fault, the power frequency zero sequence current to be injected into the neutral point can be calculated by the known amount available for measurement in the distribution network, so that the neutral point zero sequence voltage is set to 0. At this time, the zero sequence current of the sound feeder is set to 0, and the zero sequence current of the fault feeder is the ratio of the power supply voltage of the fault phase to the transition to the resistance. The difference between the two is significant and can be used for faulty feeder detection. The Matlab/simulink simulation results show that the proposed method has strong response ability to transition resistance and is not affected by neutral grounding mode and system asymmetry.
